FrSancho Armarol is a good man who has lost all 5 of his brothers and sisters were murdered over the last 25 years. The last was his younger sister killed by the militias after the vote for independence during the massacre in Saui. He himself though that he would joined them when he was forced to West Timor by the militias but he escaped into the mountains and found his way home. Fr Sancho was transferred to be Parish Priest at Santa Cruz Parish, Maliana September 2000. He is a good humble man with a very sharp sense of humour. Fr Sancho lives a very simple life and he pastors about 28,000 parishioners on his own with his catchiest.

The following is the specific requests that been made by Fr Sancho Amoral for his parish of Santa Crux in Maliana. Because of the massive unemployment problem he has given his youth a project to put a 12 metre cross on a hill outside of town that is 1700 metres high, (about 6000 feet), he would like some funds to help with this. This is very important to them as a point of unity for the parish as it was their church millennium project.

Other larger projects.

  • Small 4wd tractor, including

  • A rotary hoe.

  • Small chisel plow.

  • 2 Tonne truck, with drop sides and tipper.

What do I believe that Our Father God is calling us to do?

There are many surplus gifts in the Church that can be given to the Church in East Timor That would bear witness to the fact that we are One Holy Catholic Church.

Some brothers and sisters have the gift of prayer and intercession. There are some brothers and sisters here who have a surplus of time and our Father God is perhaps calling you to form a small group that can begin the relationship with the brothers and sisters in east Timor. Now there are some of you who have a surplus of finances. There will be perhaps some who have all of the above, what ever your gifts I'm inviting you to share them with family. All these gifts come from God and it is to him we have to give account.   I believe that all these gifts are the same in our fathers eyes.  Its not what we are given, that's important but it’s what we do with what we are given.  This is important.  Well, perhaps God is calling you to help in one of these ways.   If you are able to help our brothers and sisters, please do so.

What can we do
